Say It With A Sign

Nobody would have ever guessed that I would be starting my own home business, especially me. But here I am. It wasn’t until I took time to look back over the past 5 ½ years that I truly understood how this came to be.

Being a stay-at-home Mom has been the most educational and inspirational time of my life. Though I have always been organized, motherhood has taught me life skills, passion, patience, determination, and flexibility, while giving me the strength and courage to try new things. Sound familiar? These are some of the exact same qualities as entrepreneurs.

The idea of greeting cards for your lawn was something Donnie, my husband, and I have talked about for years after seeing a birthday greeting sign in a yard while visiting family in Texas. It is unique, fun and gives me an opportunity to meet new people! We brainstormed about what a business renting out signs for yard greetings could look like.

Economically, the signs would need to be reusable and multiple purpose, for different occasions like these:

  • Birthdays
  • Anniversaries
  • Congratulations
  • Graduations
  • Retirements
  • Birth Announcements
  • Promposals
  • Welcome home
  • Valentines
  • Special Occasions

And so, after much debate we decided letters with graphics and emojis would be best to use, giving customers a more unique and customizable way to express what they want.

I won’t say it isn’t scary starting a business for the first time, but with the right support group and what I have learned thus far raising two young boys, I can’t see that I will ever be in a better place to give this a try.
